Judge Donald Hamilton

One of EBSF’s most stalwart supporters, former Patron Judge Donald Hamilton, died peacefully on Easter Monday. Judge Hamilton was Principal Adoption Judge in Birmingham and his experience and wisdom were very important to EBSF during his years as a Patron of the Fund. He was a regular attender at celebrations of EBSF graduates. As EBSF chair David Edgar put it: “Donald had a unique capacity to supply both gravitas and a spirit of light-hearted celebration”.

            Following his retirement in 2012 Judge Hamilton was appointed a special advisor to Coventry City Council on child protection. A lifelong music lover, he was on the Board of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, a member of All Saints Church at Allesley and a volunteer tour guide at Coventry Cathedral.
