Our annual curry night was held at the Spice Merchant, Poplar Road, Kings Heath on 20 April. As usual, earnings from the meal were supplemented by a raffle. Eve Brook’s son Sean Penney was among the attenders. The event raised £1,062.

Following the EBSF’s decision last summer to give a £250 award and certificate to all Birmingham care-leavers who gain undergraduate degrees, all 18 awards have now been made.             In a bumper year for achievement, four of the graduates achieved first class honours and a further five 2:1s.             This new scheme follows a consultation…
